The Jeremy Lin craze continues as he had another good game to advance the Knicks to a 7-game winning streak. With 10 points and 13 assists, lastnight Lin was more of the distributor than putting up a lot of points. This is the true point guard that the Knicks need. Especially, with Carmelo Anthony on the verge of making his way back into the line-up. So, the question still remains can Melo and Lin coexist on the court? I believe that when he returns it will only make the Knicks better, how could it not? As long as they play like a team and play hard the Knicks will perform better.
I am sure it will take a month or so for the Knicks to begin to mold as a fluent team, but it's going to happen. The fact is that is has to happen! If they want to be considered contenders in the NBA, than they have to work together. The only flaw I have seen in Jeremy's game so far has been his turnover ration, it's been a little high. Which is normal for a rookie, but he's smart enough to correct the situation and move past it. However, the Knicks have a tough upcoming schedule after these next easy games. They play the Heat, Celtics, Bulls, and Pacers within the next month and those are the games that will decide if the Knicks are for real or not. If they can play competitive basketball against the top teams in the NBA, than there is no doubt in my mind that the Knicks have a great chance to win it all. We are going to have to wait and see how this all plays out in the next month or so.

Permalink Reply by Rob Johnson on February 16, 2012 at 4:52pm Seven game streak is great, now lets see how they will use Lin when Melo is back. If the Knicks go 3-1 against the Heat, Celtics, Bulls and Pacers then I would consider the Knicks to make a run in the playoffs.

Permalink Reply by sportsnut@freetopsportspicks.com on February 18, 2012 at 5:14pm No it won't but to the Hornets was not the loss I expected. Especially, with the tough schedule they have coming up, it's going to be a challenge.

Permalink Reply by sportsnut@freetopsportspicks.com on February 18, 2012 at 5:35pm Yeah I knew he wasn't going to back until next week. It's ok though, as long as Lin cuts down alot on the turnovers, they might have a chance. Plus, everyone must contribute like against the Raptors.

Permalink Reply by Bob Smith on February 18, 2012 at 5:44pm I cant wait to see how D'Antoni handles Lin and Melo and then J.R.Smith.
Permalink Reply by sportsnut@freetopsportspicks.com on February 18, 2012 at 5:46pm Yeah, hopefully that will make D'Antoni's exit alot quicker. I think they could do much better with a more well-rounded coach.

Permalink Reply by Bob Smith on February 18, 2012 at 5:55pm Bleacher Report thinks Mike has earned another year as coach. I think if the Knicks miss the playoffs or get knocked out in the first round, D'Antoni is gone but who knows.
Permalink Reply by sportsnut@freetopsportspicks.com on February 18, 2012 at 5:57pm Why b/c Melo told him to play Lin. He would of never played Lin if not for Melo and if that didn't happen he would of been fired that week probably.
